  What is Trenck Festival?
The everyday atmosphere of Waldmünchen changes into fascinating scenic performance.
A bit of history. In 1742 a group of furious warriors raged in Bavaria. They did not fear the death nor the devil. They fighted for their leader Trenck and for themselves. It was the time of Austrian war of the throne heritage. The historical acts were influenced by three women ( Marie Theresia from faraway Vienna, a gypsy Mariuzza, and Kathi Schwab from Cham).
In 1945 a group of theatre enthusiasts from Waldmünchen decided to choose this historical event as a base for the performance Trenck and his Paqndoors.

 Plot of the theatre play:
It is getting dark....Trenck with his troops is standing in front of the town gates of Waldmünchen. We can hear the stamping of horses' hooves, which is coming nearer. A group of soldiers with their horses is stopping in front of the audience.
The silence is cut by a strident sound of a flourish. Almost whole the performance is accompanied by frightful screams, fire, dust, and smell of horses which gives you shivers. We are in Waldmünchen in the middle of the 18th century.
Come to watch the dramatic as well as thrilling performance of the local amateur actors.
